Windmill Hill No.2, by Sir Francis Seymour Haden, Eng., (1818-1910)
Drypoint, 1877, S. 153, 4th. state of 5, 5-15/16 x 8-7/8, a small fox mark to outlined tree in background at far right, very faint light fading and pale trace of mat line, signed and dated 1877 in the plate only by Haden, at lower left, but annotated and signed in pencil just below the plate at left by Haden's printer Goulding,: "I should select this proof as a good one- F. Goulding, Printer", on antique thin cream laid paper with a partial watermark and binding holes at bottom edge from an old book or ledger, 7-13/16 x 12-11/16. A beautiful impression rich with burr, on a antique sheet, inscribed and signed by Frederick Goulding, esteemed printer for many great artists, including both Haden and his brother in law James McNeill Whistler.
