Woodcut, ca. 1940's, Ed. unknown, 9-1/2 x 22-1/4, signed and titled in pencil on thin cream japan paper. There are small discreet vertical creases tothe sky visible mostly in raking light and handling creases to the margins from previous storage. Henry Kallem worked on the WPA in the late 1930's and later produced prints of and in Provincetown and New York. His work embraced a bold expressionism and favored architectural subjects. West Side is a charming example with it's rhythmic window patterns and value reversals.
