"European Street" by Esther Julia Coleman, Amer., (Early 20th Century)
Color Linocut, ca. 1930's, Ed. unknown, issued as a Christmas card, signed in the red interior Greeting block inside, and printed on cream wove japan paper folded over, with diagonal soft folds to lower right corner. Intended as a Christmas card, this woodcut's luminous bright colors bring cheer wherever it resides. Perhaps one of you may have come across other woodcuts by this artist? I've so far been unable to unravel the mystery of who she was, or the extent of her career as an artist, but this little woodcut still delights the eye.
