"Windswept Spruce" by George Elbert Burr, Amer., (1859-1939)
Etching, ca. 1910, S.131, ed. probably 100, 6-13/16 x 5-3/8, signed & titled in pencil, on white wove paper. One of Burr's signature studies of the rugged southwestern mountaintop terrain, detailing the splendid vistas and magestic profiles of these stoic trees sculpted by the winds. The artist's choice of brown ink imparts a late afternoon glow to this scene.
