"New Haven Harbor" by Elizabeth Hicks, Amer., 1886-1974)
Etching, 1930, ed. unknown but small, 6-15/16 x 8-7/8, initialed, titled & dated in the plate, trimmed to the platemark and mounted on a cream wove support sheet, probably by the artist. A rare etched view showing New Haven harbor from the 1930's. Hicks studied with William Merrit Chase and Robert Henri, and she exhibited at the National Arts Club, the National Academy, Allied Artists and the National Association of Women Artists. She lived in Litchfleld, Connecticut.
