Inga Britta Mills studied in her native Sweden receiving a Baccalaureate in languages from Gothenburg University, and received both a B.A. and M.A. in Fine Arts from Montclair State University in New Jersey. She was an assistant to Dag Hammarskjold at the U.N., and also studied at the Art Students League and Tyler School of Art in Rome. She exhibited both in the U.S. and abroad, winning many awards; and her works are held in private collections in the U.S., Europe, Japan and Australia. Most of her prints were produced in very small editions, and are distinguished by their range of expression from boldly spontaneous gestural black and whites to formal geometric abstractions which explore the interactions of shape and color with intimations of landscape and architecture.
