Etching, 1907, Ed. unknown, 8-15/16 x 8-5/16, faintest matline, signed, titled and dated in pencil, on cream laid paper 11-9/16 x 11-7/16, a fine impression in fine condition of this early Florentine subject; the wealth of detail, Blacksmith surrounded by an aura of light from his forge, and framed by arch and doorway attest to Roth's early inspiration from the work of James McNeil Whistler. This early print by Roth is not so commonly found. $350
