Ernest D. Roth, Amer., (1879-1964), Ca' d'Oro
Etching, 1913, Ed. of perhaps 80, 9-1/16 x 11-7/8, signed, titled and dated in pencil, two small spots of foxing to lower margin, moderately toned within the mat opening, on a thick cream laid paper with full margins 11-9/16 x 14-5/16. A crisp, well inked impression of this landmark Venetian subject by Roth, featured on the cover of the important and highly reccomended catalogue: Reflections and Undercurrents: Ernest D Roth and Printmaking in Venice 1900-1940, by Eric Denker. Roth's Venetian prints were the subject of this same traveling exhibition organized by Eric Denker , then of the National Gallery of Art, which included a CT viewing at The Mattatuck Museum in Waterbury, CT.
