Regular price $175
Etching, 1930's-40's, Ed. unknown, 7-7/8 x 9-7/8, minor toning to edges, a thin discreet printing crease extending into large cloud at top center, signed and dedicated in pencil, "To Ulric Ellerluscu A.A.A.", a tad difficult to decipher, on a cream wove paper.  A fine impression of this print by Nisbet, a respected Connecticut painter and very fine print maker, who focused on the tranquil beauty of Kent and the Housatonic River, in CT's northwestern corner. His subjects were sporting and bathing scenes, town views of Kent and the surrounding verdant hills. Nisbet's prints demonstrate a mastery of technique and vision akin to French print makers of the late 19th century, such as Lalanne, Daubigny and Appian. Nisbet was also a founder of the Kent Art  Association, and a member of the National Academy of Design.
