"Boats on the Grand Canal Venice" by Hans Figura, Austrian, (1998-1978)

Color Aquatint, 6-1/2 x 7-3/4, signed in pencil, on thin cream laid japan paper, deckle edge to left and bottom margin, vertical printing crease to right margin well outside image, minor handling crease just outside platemark bottom margin left of center, round embossed blind stamp of interlocked  triangles below lower left image corner. Figura's best Venitian etchings are notable for their fine compositions and attention to detail as well as their strong but muted color harmonies.
