Luigi Lucioni (1900-1988) |
Hilltop Elms, Etching, 1954, AAA ed. of 250, E.123, 11 x 9-3/4, signed in the plate and signed & dated in pencil, on thick warm white wove paper. Slight toning in mat opening, tape residue along right margin edge. Lucioni was a gifted realist painter and etcher with a precisionist style; most notably in his serene still life and portrait oils which align him with artists like Charles Sheeler. However, Lucioni loved minute detail and indulged his supreme gifts for rendering the infinite textures found in the landscapes of his beloved Vermont. He was a gifted and prolific etcher, who's long standing collaboration with Associated American Artists produced many of his prints, which remain affordable and are widely collected today. $225 |
